How has this concept been lost . . . that Gods original intent was that all people stand before Him as priests? From the time He planted the garden, God desired that we would live in His presence so we could hear His heart and express His heart with authority to all people. That is priesthood.

Priesthood is based upon an intimate relationship with God. When our life is devoid of that relationship, we depend on our own thoughts and visions of life rather than on the heart of God. We do not perceive Gods heart for priesthood, and so we return to worldly or human patterns. Without Gods revelation, the church will stay with the model of one priest for many people.

According to the author, Tom Schlueter, one priest is not Gods plan. He believes God is restoring the priesthood of all believers in this day. This book defines the priesthood and uses simple terminology and everyday illustrations to show how we can live and move in God-empowered authority as a priest at work, at home, at school, at church as we intimately embrace our Lord and King.
