Description

Life is a rush . . . but wisdom is slow and cool. This book brings both together.

Within you will discover fifty-two short readings, exploring a wide range of meaningful topics. Each of these is designed as a challenge to help us think beyond our status quo, both about God and about ourselves.

If you live life at a run and think you could use some great encouragements that give brilliant insights, this book is one to take with you on the road.

Excerpt from the book

Disempower your disappointments

Whatever we focus on, we give power to. "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." Col 3:2

We have all had experiences of being hurt, wounded, betrayed and let down. As sure as the sun rises and sets, we will have similar experiences in the future. Life is not about avoiding unpleasant situations. It is about making a profit from them.

What if every potentially damaging situation was really a short cut to a brilliant experience of Jesus? Instead of being wounded we would become Christ-like! Through His blood and sacrifice we do not have a right to be wounded; we have a right to be healed.

Take your eyes off the negative and you will disempower it. If you are wounded and offended, it proves that your old nature is still alive. The best way to keep it dead is to live in the new nature of "Christ in you, the hope of glory."

Do not treat disappointments as house guests. In the kingdom we attack the negative and we drive it out. It has neither possession nor inheritance with us.

About the Author

Graham Cooke is a popular conference speaker and is well known for his training programs on the prophetic, spiritual warfare, intimacy and devotional life, leadership, spirituality and the church in transition. A strong part of Graham's ministry is in producing finances and resources to the poor and disenfranchised in developing countries. He supports many projects specifically for widows, orphans and people in the penal system. He hates abuse of women and works actively against human trafficking and the sex slave trade, including women caught up in prostitution and pornography.
