Description

Why is marriage, the first gift of God to the human race, termed a covenant? Today there is confusion about every aspect of marriage, even in the Christian community, because we have lost the historic understanding of the union created by entering covenant.

A marriage is not a contract, it is altogether different – more life-changing and powerful. Marriage is not what we make it; it is a definite, specific thing. Marriage is not just a relationship, but also a plan – God’s plan – defining love, teaching us to love, and motivating us to love consistently. It is His plan for growth and transformation, equipping us to build love for a lifetime, maturing us so we can build good families and communities. God has the perfect plan for the best marriage, but we must build it; and to build it we must know the plan. Welcome to God’s plan for marriage.

About the Author:
Mark Johnson and wife Holley have seven grown children and an ever-growing group of grandchildren. For thirty-five years the understanding of covenant in these volumes has been the integrating point for his relationship with God and his marriage. Every concept has been applied, tested and proven for decades in life, marriage, family, and mentoring. His deepest passion is understanding why some build deep, powerful relationships with God while others do not; why some marriages are love-for-a-lifetime, while a growing number are not. The answer is found in covenant, in which we discover what we must do to build these relationships to their potential.
