Description

What does it look like to trust God with everything? In Compelled by Love, Heidi Baker gives you a glimpse of total dependence and authentic Christian community by taking a fresh look at the Beatitudes.

In the war-torn, poverty-stricken country of Mozambique, she and her husband have experienced Gods miraculous provisions and witnessed the transformed hearts of people caught in desperate life-or-death situations. Join them and discover the reality of Gods kingdom here on Earth.

For anyone wondering if they could truly live a life of radical love

For anyone wondering if the Beatitudes mean anything

For anyone wondering how to follow Jesus all the way

If God is not with us, we do not want to continue. If the Sermon on the Mount is simply impractical, our mission work is hopeless. We have no backup plan. We have nothing but Him.

-- Heidi Baker

Endorsments

Heidi Bakers new book, Compelled by Love, with Shara Pradhan, is a powerfully moving book that can cause you culture shock without leaving your reading room. The book is based on the Beatitudes as seen through the eyes of pastors and missionaries to the third world. The stories of miracles and poverty where there is fullness of joy are beautiful and emotionally moving. One can hear the voice of Heidi Baker coming through the pages of the book.

This is one book that has not been written from the ivory towers of academia but from the passion for revival. For those who might read the stories with doubt, however, thinking Heidi might be the stereotype of a blonde, you couldnt be further from the truth. God has chosen to reveal her to the United States as one often being inebriated on the Holy Spirit like the apostles of Acts 2 who were accused of being drunk. Heidi earned a PhD from one of Englands most prestigious theological schools.

Compelled by Love is true to the Greek text and, I believe, closer to the heart of Jesus than most books on the Beatitudes. Heidi, with Sharas help has written a most helpful book for Christians in the West. Be prepared to have a heart examination performed by the Holy Spirit.

Randy Clark, Global Awakening

Far removed from state armchair theology where the at of the Holy Spirit are debated and eventually denied, the ministry of Jesus through Rolland and Heidi Baker has captured the current-day, apostolic heart of God. Compelled by Love is not just another great book; it is an epistle of love lived out by people who love the Word and whose gazes are fixed on their Bridegroom and King Jesus. Read, weep, and let your heart be changed by these testimonies of sacrifice and His great glory!

I cannot think of a better person to write on the Beatitudes than my good friend Heidi Baker. Why? Because she lives it! This book can revolutionize your life, your family, your ministry, and your work as you put into practice the teachings of Jesus as expounded and illustrated by Heidi Bakers incredible life and ministry.
