Description

Ride the wave of the Holy Spirit with Dr. C. Peter Wagner.

For the past half-century, C. Peter Wagner has been at the leading edge of key spiritual paradigm shifts guided by the Holy Spirit. In the 1960s, the missionary movement in South America was at its peak and Dr. Wagner was there. In the 1970s, he was a recognized authority in the church growth movement. In the 1980s, he taught a popular course at Fuller Seminary with Vineyard leader John Wimber that advocated healing prayer, spiritual mapping, identificational repentance and spiritual warfare; Dr. Wagner coined the phrase Third Wave to describe this fresh move of the Spirit, which is ongoing even today. In the 1990s, he became a leader of the New Apostolic Reformation, and in the new millennium he has championed the Dominion Mandate, adopting the Seven Mountain (or 7M) template for reclaiming our culture for Gods kingdom.

For more than five decades, Dr. Wagner has led the Church from one great move of God to the next, riding the wave of the Spirit through changes he never imagined possible when he first answered Gods call to ministry. In Wrestling with Alligators, Prophets and Theologians, Dr. Wagner invites you to experience these spiritual paradigm shifts as they happened, just as he did, and shares how these surprising moves of the Spirit impacted his own ongoing transformation. Youll witness the seismic changes in the Churchs recent history through the eyes of one leader who has seen it all unfold!

Endorsements

Peter Wagner is a delightful human being, and I would not be where I am today had God not brought this father of the faith into my life. I know of no man in the kingdom of God who has given as much liberty to as many to develop their gifts. Wrestling with Alligators, Prophets and Theologians is full of teaching, joy and history of the last 80 years of a developing saints life and accomplishments. Read closely, as you might find that you are included in his account of modern Church history!

Peter has been a forerunner for the Lord, establishing many organizations in the charismatic movement. Wrestling with Alligators, Prophets and Theologians is not a read-it-once-and-then-put-it-down book; its a keep-it-handy resource for whenever there is a need to check something in recent charismatic history. It will be a treasured resource for all who value remembering the lessons of history.
