Description

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, “women in ministry?” Nursery-worker, children’s leader, pastor, it’s complicated . . .

If you are like most, your answer would be, “It’s complicated.” Many believers are still confused about the proper place for women in the church. Powerful and Free is a call to address the structural message of inequality. It is not a theological treatise on the biblical case for female leaders (there are many excellent resources for this already). It is not a political program to implement some kind of affirmative action in our leadership teams, because that doesn’t work. Rather, it is an appeal to the hearts of men and women to recognize the existence of the glass ceiling for women and to challenge themselves to align more fully with a Kingdom vision for gender-blind leadership in the Body and equal male-female partnership in the home.

Virtually every woman I know who has heard Danny Silk’s message on Powerful and Free has found it to be literally life-changing. Rarely does one book have so much impact on so many women. It is a message the whole Church – no, the whole world – needs to hear!
Stacey Campbell

Danny Silk has caught the heart of God in wanting His daughters to be Powerful and Free. As men, many of us have not fulfilled our role in ushering women into their assigned place of empowerment. Poor traditions and inconsistent biblical interpretation have fed into this problem. My home would not have the strength it has without my wife’s strong influence. In the same way, we simply are not complete as a Church culture without empowered women taking their rightful place. This book will provoke you to think and take a renewed look at women’s roles. Many men will be relieved to find biblical thought that supports their role in bringing women into their call and destiny. And women who read this book will find great joy as they recognize that God’s heart is for them to have a significant contribution into what God is doing in the earth today.
